Elisa began losing her hair as a result of Alopecia at the age of three. She had to deal with cruel comments from other children and feeling different for most of her childhood and teenage life. Elisa was determined to follow her dream of becoming a dancer but attending performing arts college brought the issue to a head.

“I was a dancer, and not being able to style my hair freely made me feel like I stood out. When I went to performing arts college, it became particularly difficult because appearance is such a big focus. I often felt like the odd one out and worried that my hair would hold me back. It affected my confidence significantly during those years.”

In an attempt to solve the problem, Elisa tried over-the-counter hair growth products and shampoos. She went on a specialised diet. She tried using a wig, but soon realised that it wasn’t a good long-term solution, especially for someone who loves dancing. She also visited a hair loss salon in London but found their method to be unnatural and uncomfortable.

“Their system used fibre hair attached with glue bonds. It put pressure on my natural hair and limited what I could do with it.”

Elisa tried just about everything to tackle her hair loss, but it got progressively worse. Until one day, her mum found Hair Solved through an internet search. Elisa had her first Enhancer system fitted when she was XX and says that was when everything changed.
